  • Acne Diet – Foods To Avoid

Does what you eat really affect the way your skin looks? Yes, as a matter of fact, it does.

If you want to have clear skin, they're certain foods - or groups of foods - that you should avoid. I'm sure you've already guessed what most of them are.

Here's a short list: fried foods, fast foods, burgers and fries, cheeseburgers, pizza, chips, ice cream - well, I think you get the idea. Actually, any diet that’s high in fat will negatively affect your skin.

So what should you be eating?

Fruit, vegetables, lean meats (like chicken and fish) and low fat dairy products all support a healthy lifestyle and healthy skin. Stay away from processed and prepared foods since these contain a lot of chemicals. Choose an apple or a banana for a snack instead of a bag of chips.

Staying on an acne diet will help improve your skin and as an added side benefit, you’ll feel better too.

Research has proven that there is a connection between diet and acne, so if you have acne, it would be a great idea to take a look at your diet and see if that is possibly the cause of it.

Acne can also be caused by stress, so take a look at your life and see if that’s a possibility for you. Stress can create many physical problems in addition to acne, so it’s certainly worth examining.

Regular exercise has been proven to reduce stress and if you’re suffering from acne, it will also have side benefits for you. Exercise increases the circulation of your blood to your skin. Essentially, that gives your body more opportunities to bring nourishment to you skin and to get rid of the toxins that need to be eliminated.

And last but definitely not least, be sure to drink plenty of water. This will also help your body (and your skin) to eliminate any unwanted toxins.
